The Nanjing–Taicang High-Speed Railway, commonly known as the Nanjing–Taicang High-Speed Railway, was originally the Jiangsu South Bank Intercity Railway. It is a high-speed railway line in Jiangsu Province that connects Nanjing City and Taicang City. It is an important part of China's "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" high-speed railway network, encompassing both the Beijing-Shanghai corridor and the Yangtze River corridor. It is a key route in the comprehensive three-dimensional transportation corridor planning of the Yangtze River Economic Belt and serves as a backbone line in the intercity rail transit network of the core area of the Yangtze River Delta city cluster. It is also the first railway project in Jiangsu Province to be independently invested and constructed by the province itself.
