The facility is used for the research, development and production of multiple vaccines, including 13-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine. The vaccines target pneumococcus, one of the world's leading causes of disease. The project is positioned as a public-health biopharmaceutical facility with significant social and economic value. Once completed, it was expected to strengthen domestic access to high-end vaccines and help reduce healthcare costs.
