The project has built two active-pharmaceutical-ingredient workshops with fermentation capacity of 10 tonnes each, together with a formulation filling workshop and quality centre. The facilities are designed to produce up to 30 million finished insulin-analogue units annually, with annual output value exceeding RMB 3 billion. The group's companies have also established platforms for antibodies, diabetes biologics, cell therapy and cancer vaccines. At the time of the source description, one product had been submitted for marketing approval, five were in Phase III clinical trials, twelve were in early clinical stages and more than fifty projects were in preclinical research. The project was expected to support Chongqing's industrial transformation and upgrading.
