The Emeishan–Hanyuan Expressway runs from Emeishan in Leshan to Hanyuan in Ya'an, connecting with the Leshan–Ya'an and Yaxi expressways.
The Emeishan–Hanyuan Expressway starts south of Emeishan in Leshan, connecting with the Emeishan branch of the Leshan–Ya'an Expressway. It passes through Ebian Yi Autonomous County, Jinkouhe District and Ganluo County in Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, and ends at Liushuihe north of Hanyuan in Ya'an, where it connects with the Yaxi Expressway.
The main line is approximately 122.9 kilometres long and was built to the four-lane expressway standard, with a design speed of 80 kilometres per hour and estimated total investment of about RMB 20.5 billion. Eleven interchanges are provided: Emei, Luomu, Shaxi, Longchi, Dawei, Ebian, Heizhugou, Jinkouhe, Wusihe, Hanyuan East and Hanyuan North.
